Under the background of smart tourism, improvements in opening, managing and serving tourism data will bring both commercial and social value. Based on the government data open evaluation index system, combined with data capture and statistics, this paper evaluates the status quo of tourism data opening of five provincial (sub - provincial) data open platforms in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta from four dimensions: readiness, platform, data and utilization. It is found that the five platforms can be divided into three open states: “ high readiness + big data” composite mode, “equipped platform” or “full utilization” single - core drive mode, and the primary mode. The platforms all share problems such as ambiguous data quality requirements, lack of topic catalogues, low coverage of datasets and few outputs of application results.
